The entire idea behind CarNotify is simple: people should be able to reach you about your vehicle without ever knowing who you are. Here's how that actually works under the hood, in plain terms.
Your QR code carries no personal data
When you register a vehicle, CarNotify generates a random code and links it — privately, on our servers — to your profile. The sticker itself contains only that code. Nobody scanning it can extract your name, number, or any other detail from it directly.
Messages are relayed, never forwarded as-is
When someone scans your sticker and sends an alert, it doesn't go straight to your phone as a normal SMS from their number. It's relayed through CarNotify's system and delivered to you via push notification, SMS, WhatsApp, or email — whichever channels you've enabled — without exposing either party's number to the other.
Replies stay anonymous too
If you want to respond, CarNotify's in-app chat keeps the conversation masked on both sides. Neither person needs to reveal a phone number to have a real back-and-forth about the issue.
You control the sticker's status
You can pause alerts on a vehicle any time — useful if you're selling the car, going on a long trip, or just don't want to be notified for a while. Deactivating a code makes it stop working entirely.
Everything is logged, only for you
Every alert you receive is saved to your personal dashboard, so you have a record of what happened and when — but that history is visible only to you, not to whoever sent the alert.
